We’re a small, mission-driven company focused on making a real difference. If you’re mid-career and looking to work at the cutting edge—joining early, shaping direction, and having tangible impact—we encourage you to explore our open roles.  

Our mission is to find, preserve, and deliver real-world knowledge—and make sure it actually has impact. We help organizations understand what’s working, show the value of their work, and strengthen their ability to secure funding and support. We work with authors, universities, corporations, think tanks, and publishers to ensure important ideas and evidence reach the people who need them. This work matters, and we take it seriously.

1. Innovation We bring over 200 years of combined experience in publishing and library innovation—from early CD-ROMs to some of the first web-based databases. We’ve consistently worked at the forefront of change, and we intend to stay there. We value speed, momentum, and practical execution—minimizing bureaucracy and focusing on work that moves the needle.

2. Collaboration We want people at every level to take initiative and make things happen. We listen closely to our customers and partners and build alongside them. We’re not defensive. We’re confident in our direction but never complacent—always improving, open to feedback, and committed to learning. Our team spans genders, generations, five continents, and multiple time zones. Diverse perspectives lead to better ideas, better decisions, and better outcomes.

3. Integrity We follow through on our commitments. We track progress not to judge, but to identify and remove obstacles together. We value clarity, honesty, and direct communication: “Say what you mean, mean what you say.” We prioritize substance over style and maintain a professional but noncorporate culture.

4. Financial discipline Resources are tight in our sector, and we take that seriously. We focus on delivering real value to our customers and partners. If you’re looking for luxury perks or heavy formality, we may not be the right fit—we prioritize impact over appearances.
